David Kerr Forrest was born in 1953 and holds the degrees of BA from Liverpool (1974), MA (Economics) from Manchester (1975), and PhD from Western Ontario (1983). His main interests are in the fields of economic development and labour economics. He was a visiting lecturer at MacMaster University, Hamilton. Ontario, in 1979-1980. After spending the next year teaching at Liverpool University, he moved to Manchester University and has been a lecturer in Economics there since 1981. Davis Forrest is Professor of Economics, University of Salford (from 2007). Honorary Professor, Macao Polytechnic Institute (from 2008).
