his remarkable book of Ferid Hudhri’s convincingly affirms once more this noble mutual understanding of the peoples, as it expresses itself in the figurative arts. With his research work going over many years, the author shows us that, in the course of their travels through Albania, dozens of painters recorded the multifarious colours and faces of this land and its people and then recreated then on the canvas. Others, who for various reasons did not visit Albania themselves, came with their spirit and their imagination here, borrowed Albanian costumes from their colleagues, based themselves on what they had been told and then, with their unforgettable colours, created works of art in inestimable value.
