This book is designed to introduce the reader to the history, role and functions of the ECB within the framework of EMU. It is divided into six chapters dealing with the different aspects of the ECB as a policy-maker, as an organization of Community law and as the core and leader of the Eurosystem.

This book is addressed to anyone who wishes to have a greater in-depth understanding of all legal , institutional and organizational aspects of the ECB.
