Think Tanks in Central and Eastern Europe: A Comprehensive Directory is the most complete listing to date of the region’s new policy institutes. It is specifically intended to increase their effectiveness by facilitating increased collaboration within their own community and with counterparts in government, media, and business in CEE and elsewhere.

The Second Edition of Think Tanks in Central and Eastern Europe: A Comprehensive Directory is not simply a factually updated version of the first edition, published in 1997, but the product of a nine-month exercise in reconceptualization and refinement. The result has been an immediately apparent broadening of the geographical scope of the book to include Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Ukraine, and FR Yugoslavia…The methodology used in constructing the second edition has been extensive, detail-oriented, and arduous.
