The first section of this publication, Visions of Europe, presents interviews with ten important European figures, all top political leaders as well as the leading players shaping the future of our continent. The second part of the book comprises a number of analyses, prepared by various European experts for different encounters with the media, politicians, intellectuals and entrepreneurs from all over Europe, over a period lasting almost two years.
“It is said that Europe has been making progress over the last ten years. Ever since the day when, by the Single European Act, it was decided that Europe was to become a single market. And nothing but a market! In fact, it is the market that is making progress, to the rhythm of growing global pressure that is used as the supreme argument. And what about the rest: political ambitions, the rebirth of civic responsibility, the cultural renaissance? “
