In the eighties, there have been considerable changes in the U.S. economic policy and the development of the economy. There seems to have been barely any change – be it considered good or bad – for which Reaganomics had not been made responsible at one point or another. Hence, the public as well as many economists have differing and often rather vague ideas about the content and impact of the Reagan economic program. With his book “Reagan and the U.S. Economy”, Boskin brings some clarity into the matter. He elaborates on the background of Reaganomics, discusses the abundance of policies involved, and analyzes to what extent it influenced the economic development during Reagans’ presidency.
