This book documents the 123rd Bergedorf Round Table, which was entitled 'The Future of Southeastern Europe: Towards European Integration.' The articles were written by politicians, experts, journalists, and representatives of social organisations and cover the state of the political, economic, social and cultural development of Southeast Europe and its future prospects.

In the coming year we will focus on these issues because we see that on the long road to EU membership, which is all about values and standards to be achieve in time, these are the sectors in which we have to improve in order to match the level that has already been achieved by the Central European countries. Then we will be able to discuss full-fledged membership.
